🍕 Chorizo & Hot Honey Pizza Breads
Made using leftover Sundried Tomato & Oregano demi baguettes
Serves: 2–4 | Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 8–10 minutes
🧺 Ingredients:
From your kitchen:
- 2–4 leftover demi baguettes (sliced in half lengthways)
- 100g cooked chorizo, sliced or chopped
- 150g pizza sauce or passata
- 100–150g grated mozzarella
- 2 tbsp hot honey (shop-bought or homemade – see below)
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Optional: sliced red onion, fresh chilli, or rocket to serve
🍯 Quick Hot Honey (homemade):
- 2 tbsp runny honey
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
Gently warm the honey and chilli flakes in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl for 15–20 seconds. Stir well and set aside.
👩🍳 Method:
1. Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) / Gas Mark 6.
2. Prepare the baguettes
Slice each baguette in half lengthways.
Place them cut-side up under the grill for 1–2 minutes to lightly toast — this helps prevent the base from going soggy.
3. Assemble the pizza breads
- Spread each slice with a generous spoonful of pizza sauce or passata.
- Top with grated mozzarella, followed by the chorizo.
- Sprinkle with dried oregano and drizzle lightly with olive oil.
4. Bake
Place the prepared baguette slices on a baking tray.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbling.
5. Finish and serve
Remove from the oven and drizzle with hot honey while still warm.
Top with rocket, red onion, or a few slices of fresh chilli, if you fancy.
